Work
Following her completion of a BA in dance from the University of Calgary in 2005, Jennifer Mahood co-founded Ephemeral Industry: an experimental contemporary dance company that produced, A Project in Perspective (2006) and System-Antics (2007). She is an active member of the Calgary dance community through her work as a performer, instructor, choreographer and dance videographer. Mahood has studied in Canada, the USA, Europe and Guinea West-Africa. Her work has been performed in Canada, the USA, and Poland. Mahood has choreographed for Alberta Dance Explosions, Alberta Dance Theatre, Calgary Mens’ Chorus, Eko Dance Projects, Fluid Movement Arts Festival, Indiana Intermedia Festival, and other independent Artists. She enjoys a variety of dance forms including Contemporary, Jazz and West-African dance. Her most recent explorations have led her to the creative merging of dance and video. She is currently working on her MFA in contemporary dance creation and performance at the University of Calgary.

Join W&M Dance Projects for the showing of works by choreographers Tara Wilson and Jennifer Mahood. These works are the product of a one week choreographic intensive with dancer of WM2 and auditioned dancers from the community.

Step into the shadows with Freak Show, a tour that explores the deepest recesses of the EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts. Find yourself swept up in a boiler room sideshow, or encounter bizarre dancers in a freight elevator. Following in the steps of maniacal tour guides, you’ll witness outrageous performances in spaces you never imagined existed.
The Department of Dance in the Faculty of Arts is proud to wrap up the 2010/ 2011 season with Professional Series II and a riddimic conclusion to the Why Dance? trilogy. Choreographed by Calgary's own dynamo Michèle Moss with guest artists Deanne Walsh, Tara Wilson, Amanda Bonnell, Jennifer Mahood and Caroline Fraser. The production runs April 20 & 21, 2011 at 8pm in the University Theatre.
